Vics peppered the Whitchurch goal for a full 20 minutes. Three chances came and went for Jez Conway, before JOSH NEALE tucked away his effort in the 16th minute from an Aedan Coode cross to make the score 1-0.
Vics’ forward line continued to terrorise the Whitchurch defence but they couldn’t make the most of the chances that came their way.
Vics did increase their lead on 26 minutes, though. A great ball into the box from Jordi Chapman found JI NASH who slotted home to make it 2-0.
Whitchurch’s first real attempt on goal in the 40th minute was a goal of the season contender. SAM FREEMAN gathered the ball on the edge of the box and curled in an unstoppable finish. At half-time, it was to 2-1.
In the second-half, Ash Neal hit a beauty for Whitchurch, but Alex Ram was equal to the effort and made a fingertip save to deny the visitors an equaliser.
Vics extended their lead on 83 minutes. Great work from lively substitute CHARLIE MARSEK saw him wriggle clear of the defenders and smash an unstoppable effort into the Whitchurch net, making 3-1.
Vics missed a couple of opportunities, then Whitchurch pulled one back in the 94th minute. A penalty was dispatched by BRETT DENHAM, after a hand ball from Harry Taylor.
Sitting comfortably in mid-table, Cowes Sports took on seventh placed Portland United at Westwood Park, and were victorious.

However, the match was called off due to a waterlogged pitch.
