MEMBERS of the Isle of Wight Panther Kickboxing club shone at the WAKO Team GB National Championships in Nottingham.
The kickboxers who travelled to the competition and weighed in the night before the competition, which reflected the importance of correct weight in preparation for such an event.
Double-bronze winner Abbott demonstrated his "consistency, determination and ability to handle competition pressure," according to his coach, Dominic Marsh.
Female kickboxer, Katie Moram, stood out as she clinched gold in the kick light category and silver in light continuous, becoming the first Panther female to reach the podium at a national event.
She was commended for battling against some of the country's best fighters.
Young Harvey Abbott, at just 15 years, earned bronze in the senior light continuous category, losing to an adult Team GB member in a hard-fought match.

The refubished premises, specially designed for kickboxing, boasts a new K1 training ring, to provide optimal training conditions for its promising fighters.
Talking about the club's triumphant outing, head coach Marsh added: "So many behind the scenes battles have been fought to overcome this tournament."
