Isle of Wight primary school finals produce impressive football

In the U9 girls' league final, a hat-trick from Ella Harding saw Carisbrooke beat The Bay 3-0.

Meanwhile, in the U11 boys' rural cup final, Northwood took on Shalfleet, having been beaten narrowly beaten by Nettlestone in the first round of finals.

Ben Spickett-Wynn struck for Shalfleet and the score was locked at 1-1 at the end of normal and extra time.

Northwood's goalkeeper proved the hero, saving a spot kick in the penalty shootout to win his side the trophy.

It was an equally tight final in the U9 boys' league final, when The Bay faced Carisbrooke.

A fantastic strike from Logan Woodford gave The Bay the lead in the first half.

Despite Carisbrooke's best efforts, they could not find an equaliser and The Bay held on for a 1-0 victory.

In the U10 boys league final, Haylands completed a 3-1 win over Gurnard with Kayden Chesters, Clark Keegan and Denny Newsham all scoring.

Godshill and Bembridge then faced off in the U11 girls' rural league final.

Bembridge, who were undefeated this season, made a strong start with a great strike from Darcie Pearce crashing off the crossbar, before Godshill took the lead through Daisy Taylor.

In search of an equaliser, Bembridge poured forward in the second half but were denied by two great saves from Godshill's Evelyn Bartlett.

It finished Godshill 1-0 Bembridge.

There was further success for The Bay Primary in the U11 boys' league as they defeated Binstead, 4-1. 

A hat-trick from Kian Merrett and a goal from Bobby Read secured the win and ensured that the team from The Bay completed a clean sweep of six league and cup victories out of six over the last three seasons.

In the final fixture, The Bay played Carisbrooke in the U11 girls' league final.

With what was virtually the last kick of the game, Carisbrooke's Matilda Garnham struck to secure her side a 1-0 win and the trophy.
