With the match tied at 2-2 until the final five minutes, both teams pushed to break the deadlock.

Ventnor were able to capitalise on a late surge, scoring two quick goals to secure a 4-2 victory in the historic clash.

Phil Collinson, manager of Wight Eagles U13s, said the match not only highlighted the high standards of girls’ football but also served as a powerful argument for establishing a dedicated girls’ league on the Island.
