BROOM Christine I would like to thank my family and friends who joined me in celebrating my 80th birthday recently. To Burrs Restaurant, Newport for a 5 star dinner and to the Old Smithy, Godshill for hosting a superb Afternoon Tea with catering by Jackie and her attentive staff. Newchurch Male Voice Choir entertained the guests with a wonderful programme of songs. Donations of £500 each were made to the choir and to crewman Stuart Whiting on behalf of Bembridge RNLI. In lieu of presents a collection raised £1000 for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.
