Regarding the Ryde Interchange, with work due to start on Ryde Esplanade funded by the government, I am wondering if the councillors have had any more thoughts on this complete shambles they are going to create.

As I have said before, it's not needed on this scale.

If you think of the 1950/1960s, coaches and buses parked alongside the railway tunnel and the railings were covered with roses.

The toilets could be upgraded with the cafe, a good paint job would not be a problem, some new seating for the public around the Western Gardens would be good for the area and Wightlink could fund the new walkway, which seems reasonable as they own it.

The public that travel from Portsmouth/Hovercraft will connect with trains from the pier head to St Johns, as they do now, and again local taxis should be placed in prominent positions for the public to use.

Other people, such as the scooters that regular visit the area, are good for business and the ice rink, which is another contentious issue, needs sorting out — again it's in a prominent position .

I am wondering if any of your readers share my views on this up-and-coming disaster.
