We are once again organising the Hopefully to Seaview walk on June 12, which raises money for Retina UK.

The charity helps to restore vision to those who have lost, or are losing, their sight through inherited sight loss and cannot see our wonderful Isle of Wight views.

The last three similar events have raised over £27,000, thanks to our many supporters and helpers.

Despite Covid restrictions last year, over £5,250 was raised including a £1,000 donation from Sandown Rotary Club.

As in the previous years, this event will start from the Alamo in Ryde, opposite the pier, and the walkers will follow the coastal path to Seaview and return to the Alamo where, thanks to Dan and Sam at the restaurant, they will be treated to food and entertainment and take part in a bumper raffle thanks to scores of generous local businesses.

This family event is easily accessible by ferry, train or bus links and there is ample parking nearby and all money raised goes to Retina UK, which supports research and will lead to future treatment trials.

To register, go to: retinauk.org.uk/donations/hopefully-to-seaview

Registration is £10 and walkers will receive a T-shirt and medal, a sponsor form and information to set up a JustGiving page.
