Francie Drysdale has posted pictures of the East Cowes chemist (main image above), which was run by her grandfather, Mr Ernest Stratton, in the 1960s, and was situated near the corner of York Avenue and Ferry Road.

A photo of a time - date unknown - when a car crashed into Ernest Stratton's chemists in East Cowes also drew a lot of interest within the Facebook group.

Francie also shared pictures of the Ryde High Street shop, which was run by her dad, Tony Stratton, for 20 years between 1970 and 1990.

Many We Grew Up on the Isle of Wight members commented that Tony Stratton was a lovely man, who was helpful and kind. After he sold the Ryde shop, he worked at Tesco pharmacy.

Tony died in 2014, but Francie said most of her family were still on the Isle of Wight and many family members worked in medicine or healthcare.
