Wolverton Garden Fair organisers have issued an optimistic message suggesting the event will go ahead this year.

After having to cancel the event in 2020 due to Covid-19, the people behind the country house fair have said the current roadmap should allow the fair, which raises funds for Age UK (Isle of Wight), to go ahead.

A statement from the team said: "We are once again eternally optimistic that the improvements in the current situation will continue, allowing our 21st garden fair to go ahead this year on September 4 and 5.

"Set in the beautiful grounds of this Jacobean manor house, we are planning our usual wide variety of entertainment, garden nurseries, arts and craft stalls and exhibits, making it a great traditional family day out.

"We are monitoring Government advice and updates regarding the lockdown and want to re-assure all exhibitors, stall holders, caterers and entertainers and of course our visitors that we will keep you posted of news and developments as our plans progress.

"The health and safety of all is of paramount importance.

All profits support Age UK (IOW} and several other local Island charities.
