WITH just one new case of coronavirus confirmed on the Isle of Wight over the past 24 hours, it has helped the daily rate drop so low now, it is poised to drop into single figures for the first time in months.

According to the latest data, the Island's cumulative total now stands at 6,790.

Public Health England's figures released today (Saturday) shows the Island's rolling rate of Covid-19 cases, which are five days in arrears, has dropped again to 10.60 per 100,000 people.

This time last week, the rolling rate stood at 15.50 — a drop of a third of cases.

The UK's rolling rate has dropped to 24.80 per 100,000. Seven days ago it was 29.30.
