THE Isle of Wight has recorded further Covid cases in the latest Government update today (Wednesday).

Three new cases have been announced today, taking the week's total to six since Monday, with 14 last week.

There have now been 6,812 positive coronavirus cases since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.

The Island's rolling average of cases per 100,000 people, in the seven days to April 29, remains at 12. At the start of the week it was 9.2.

Current figures do not include positive results from fast-result lateral flow tests, if they were not subsequently confirmed by a PCR test.

Meanwhile, the Isle of Wight has recorded its first week of 2021 where nobody has died of Covid, according to the latest NHS and ONS data.
