New cases of Covid-19 have been recorded on the Isle of Wight, according to the latest data.

Public Health England figures released today (Thursday) show three new cases, yesterday has one recorded and two the previous day.

The Isle of Wight total now stands at 6,865.

The Island's rolling average of cases per 100,000 people, in the seven days to May 29, is 18.3.

That marks a rise since yesterday's 16.9, and remains well below the national figure of 33.7.

Some Islanders aged under 40 are still struggling to get Covid-19 vaccination appointments, the County Press has been told.

A 37-year-old from The Bay area said there was a 'major flaw' in the system.
