NO NEW cases of Covid-19 have been recorded on the Isle of Wight today (Friday), according to the latest data.

Public Health England figures show no new cases for the Island, after three were recorded yesterday, one on Wednesday and two on Tuesday.

The Isle of Wight's total case numbers remain at 6,865.

The Island's rolling rate of cases for the seven days up to May 30 now stands at 16.2, having fallen from yesterday's 18.3.

In contrast to the Island's low numbers, cases across the UK have risen significantly today.

Infections are at their highest level in England since mid-April, and in Scotland since mid-February.

The number of people with Covid in England rose by around three quarters in a week, Office for National Statistics figures show.
