The Princess Beatrice walled garden at Carisbrooke Castle is among the UK's most popular, according to Instagram data collated and published by a tv and podcast maker.

It sits in a list, published by History Hit, that also includes Wiltshire's Stourhead Estate and Kew Gardens in London.

Princess Beatrice became Governor of the Isle of Wight in 1896 after the death of her husband, Prince Henry of Battenberg.

In 1913, she moved into Carisbrooke Castle, which was the traditional residence of the Island's governors.

She cultivated a private garden, which had been used for leisure and as a kitchen garden.

Visitors to the English Heritage attraction now enjoy a garden created in 2009, by award-winning garden designer Chris Beardshaw.

It uses the colours of Queen Victoria's daughter's heraldic crest.
