PAID opportunities are being offered for young Isle of Wight creatives, age 18 to 30.

The Islands That Shape Us is a pilot project developed during the pandemic, looking at digital responses to live theatre.

StoneCrabs is looking for people to get involved.

They are offering a fee of £494 to cover all expenses related to the commission, weekly training and mentoring, and a day’s artistic exchange with other creatives.

They are commissioning a group to respond to Playdoh: Young Directors Festival 2021, of which the themes are language, confinement, politics, roots and identity.

It would be suitable for an aspiring director, actor, producer or designer.

The brief includes commitment to creating/producing a 5 to10 minute long artistic response to the festival’s themes, attending the training/mentoring, producing and promoting the online festival, watching the live stream of the festival, and making sure you are available for the artistic exchange.

The work will be streamed online and there will be an opportunity for further development after the project is completed.

The application deadline is August 5 at midday, with interviews on August 7 and 8 via Zoom. The project will start on August 11.
