COMBINE fun with fundraising at the Traveller's Joy in Northwood on Sunday.

Traveller's Joyous is an afternoon of outdoor music, the first event in a series promoted by Island poetess Ruth Lockyer, to raise money for Christmas lunches provided by the Salvation Army.

The event will complement the Traveller's Joy and Island Ales weekend beer festival.

There will be Morris dances from Moonshine, maritime songs from Guith, and Irish music from The Kelpie Band, with a chance for the musically minded to play along with traditional tunes in between acts.

The music is free, but there will be a circulating collection. The entertainment is running from 2pm to 5pm.

Isle of Wight County Press:

The series commemorates Andy Jackson, a well-known figure on the Island folk scene, who died in 2019.

Events will be taking place across the Island, and the series culminates in a concert on December 9 at the Salvation Army hall in Newport.
