WIGHT Proms is back this summer — with a limited audience just a quarter of the capacity.

Tickets go on sale tomorrow (Friday) for the event, which will offer comedy, opera, musicals and proms at Northwood House in Cowes over August 19 to 22.

Among those confirmed on the line-up are TV and radio presenter Penny Smith as host of the opera day, and West End star Kerry Ellis.

A statement from the proms team said: "Thank you for your patience while we try to get all our ducks in a row. We are delighted to announce that our tickets for this year's festival will go on sale tomorrow at 10am.

"Early booking is advised as we have had to halve the audience capacity to just one quarter to keep our audiences safe.

"In the meantime, please visit our website for more information about our four live shows, including the artiste line-up, and the site plan so that you can consider where you would like to sit, in anticipation of tickets going on sale tomorrow.

"You can buy lawn tickets as usual, plus this year we also have 'tables and chairs' which you can buy as a whole table only.

"Your safety, and feeling safe, in a gathering of people is of utmost importance to us and so we will be continuing with certain social-distancing measures despite not requiring to do so by law."
