AFTER a long hiatus, a young cast is thrilled to be back on a stage to perform Fame the Musical.

Curtain Call Creative students are to present the hit musical from the unforgettable film and television franchise, which inspired generations to fight for fame.

The show follows the final class of New York City's celebrated High School for the Performing Arts from their admission in 1980 to their graduation in 1984.

All the struggles, fears, and triumphs are depicted with razor-sharp focus as the young artists navigate the worlds of music, drama, and dance.

Fame continues to reach new generations of performers and audience members, and the show at Shanklin Theatre will feature a live band, modern set design and a talented cast of Island performers, all aged between six and 18 years old.

Curtain Call Creative's Andrew Woodford said: "It is fantastic to be back in the theatre after such a hiatus and we are so excited to be producing our first face to face full scale musical with all the production values expected.

"To be able to give this opportunity to the students of the Island is a fantastic feeling.

"We hope as many people as possible will come and support them and enjoy a great night out at the theatre again.

"We are so fortunate to have the support of Shanklin Theatre and can't wait to see you all there."

Book tickets for next Tuesday, August 3, or Wednesday, August 4.
