A BEMBRIDGE care home has held an exhibition to showcase artwork created by residents since the first lockdown last year.

The Limes, based in Foreland Road, exhibited 95 pieces in total which drew inspiration from well-known movements such as cubism, surrealism, and impressionism.

Others were created by using a range of materials in an exploratory way to create a sensory experience for those with higher levels of dementia.

Most of the artists at the home live with varying levels of dementia or have other additional needs, and a creative outlet has been beneficial to their wellbeing.

A spokesperson for The Limes said: "I’m so proud of them all for what they have achieved.

"None of the artwork was for sale, we held the exhibition to show the work and encourage our clients to reconnect with the community after having to be closed for so long.

"This has given them a real sense of purpose which I think is portrayed in their work."
