ISLE of Wight Festival attendees will need proof of a negative Covid-19 test before being allowed to enter Seaclose Park for the event in September.

The news comes as a list of guidelines has been published by organisers today (Friday).

Visitors aged 11 or over are being asked to provide details of their Covid status, which can be done in one of three ways:

  • Proof of full vaccination with second doses received at least 14 days before arrival.
  • Proof of a negative NHS Lateral Flow Test (LFT) taken within 72 hours of arrival.
  • Proof of natural immunity based upon a positive PCR test taken within 180 days of the performance – including ten days self-isolation following the result. Your positive result must be logged in the NHS app .

You can show your status via the NHS Covid Pass on the app.

If a negative NHS Lateral Flow Test is your chosen method of entry, you will need to adhere to the following process:

Your test should be taken within 72 hours of your arrival at the festival. You can order free tests or pick them up from any pharmacy or test site.

Once you have taken your test, report it on the NHS website.

Festival organisers say you will receive a text or email confirming your negative result, and this is what needs to be shown at the entry gates.

If your test is positive, it means it’s likely you had coronavirus when the test was done.

You and anyone you live with must not attend the Festival and should self-isolate immediately.

You are then advised to get a PCR test to confirm your result as soon as possible.

The County Press is currently running a competition for a reader to win a pair of tickets to the event, which takes place from September 16-19.
