A DISPLAY of photographs and documents about All Saints CE School in Freshwater is being exhibited throughout the summer.

It is 170 years since the school started on the current site, although schooling did take place at Moa Place years before that.

The school has now closed on the site, and the building will be demolished to make way for a new one.

It has served to educate thousands of children and employed hundreds of teachers and other staff in the West Wight, so to commemorate and celebrate the life of the school, the West Wight Heritage Centre in Freshwater is showcasing some memories.

Freshwater and Totland Archive Group members are organising the display, which will be on view until September.

The centre is open Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 10am to 12 noon.
