THE Isle of Wight has now recorded more than 8,100 cases of Covid-19 since the start of the pandemic last year.

The rolling rate has risen slightly from 189 yesterday, to 191.9 today (Tuesday) — although the data is always five days behind.

The UK rolling rate continues to fall, dropping from 283.8 yesterday to 279.5 today.

A further 21 cases were added to the Island's confirmed numbers today, taking the cumulative total to 8,101 confirmed Covid cases since the pandemic began. There were 38 new cases yesterday.

The Island has had 272 cases confirmed in the latest seven day period recorded by the government data, which takes us up to five days ago.

There were seven people with Covid in St Mary's Hospital on Tuesday July 27, the latest available hospital bed data.
