MORE than 100 new Isle of Wight Covid cases have been confirmed, according to the latest government data.

Public Health England figures released today (Sunday) show 108 cases.

Yesterday, 139 were confirmed, and 105 the day before.

The total number of Isle of Wight Covid cases, since the start of the pandemic, now stands at 13,100.

Children remain the most affected, with the government heatmap showing rates among ten to 14 year olds at 3,085.6.

It was 3,071.9 as of October 4.

The most recent Covid hospital deaths were recorded last week, when two more were added to the Isle of Wight total.

These are deaths at St Mary's Hospital after contracting Covid-19 ­— the latest recorded on September 26 and 27.

In the community, two new deaths were recorded earlier in the week.

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) figures reveal two new community deaths in the last two weeks ­— both attributed to Covid-19.
