FEWER than 60 new cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed on the Isle of Wight, new data shows, though the Island's rolling rate continues to rise.

Public Health England figures released today (Monday) show 55 new cases.

Yesterday, 123 cases were recorded, and 146 the day before.

The latest cases take the Isle of Wight total, since the start of the pandemic, to 17,327.

The Island's rolling rate, per 100,000 people, has also risen marginally.

Always five days behind, in the seven days to November 17, it was 515.1.

Yesterday, in the seven days to November 16, it was 513.0.

It remains above the UK average, which was 422.7.

Earlier today, it was revealed two more Isle of Wight hospital patients had died after contracting Covid-19

One person died on November 18 and a second death was recorded at St Mary's Hospital on November 16.
