THERE's mixed fortunes in today's daily Covid data for the Isle of Wight.
The Public Health England update shows the Island as being the second best lower tier area in the UK according to the rolling rate per 100,000 people.
With a rate of 891.1, it is the best rate in the country with the exception of the Shetland Islands. The UK rate is 1,878.2.
However, the rate is five days behind and the Island's figure therefore doesn't account for recent high rates of daily cases being added.
Today, a further 259 people were confirmed as having Covid.
There were 161 yesterday.
The number of people at St Mary's Hospital has remained the same this week, as last week.
There are 24 people in the hospital with Covid, including three on ventilation beds.
