FROM Prince Charles's harpist to the delights of Paddington Bear, there's something for everyone at a new series of monthly concerts.

Organisers of the Wight Proms festival, held annually in August in Cowes, have launched Wight Proms Wednesdays, which will start in February.

The idea is to bring their audience a bit of the Wight Proms throughout the year, not just in August, so they have launched a series of lunchtime concerts.

Taking place monthly at 12.30pm on five Wednesdays, and each lasting 40 minutes, they are the ideal lunch break addition, taking place in the ballroom at Northwood House.

People who would like to go to all five events can buy tickets for the price of four.

Ryde pianist Thomas Luke, winner of the BBC Young Musician keyboard final, starts the series on February 16.

On March 2 it's the turn of vocalist Thomas Cameron, a BRIT nominated classical-crossover tenor.

West End leading man Daniel Boys will perform on May 11.

On June 8, harpist Anne Denholm, a former official harpist to The Prince of Wales, will entertain.

On July 13, pianist James Longford, a Steinway artist and award-winning pianist from Ryde, will perform the final concert of the series.

There are also two family concerts on April 13.

Both concerts are billed as a wonderful way to introduce classical music to younger children, while also entertaining the adults, featuring live a wind quintet consisting flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon and French horn, and narrator.

They will both take place at Trinity Theatre in Cowes.

The first, at 11am, is Peter and the Wolf, and the second, at 2pm, is Paddington Bear’s First Classical Concert.
