A CAR left the road near Sandown last night (Saturday), colliding with a hedge.
Police were called at 8.01pm to a report that a vehicle had left the road on Morton Common.
The driver, a man in his 30s, ‘is safe and well,’ said Isle of Wight Police.
The major Sandown road was closed while the vehilce, a green Saab 9000, was recovered.
The road reopened at around 11.30pm.
Police say the incident is being treated as an accident at this time.
