In its short-live history, the Isle of Wight Beer and Buses Weekend became something Islanders and tourists marked in their diary for October.

Now the event has been cancelled, after being postponed twice in 2020 and 2021 due to Covid.

Organisers say the massive amount of effort, coupled with the loss of a key organiser and lack of volunteers, mean it is unsustainable in the long term.

They estimate it brought in £500,000 a year to the Island economy and it was recognised as one of very few events of its kind in the UK.

Here we look back at previous Beer and Buses Weekends in a fond farewell.
