TWO hundred bags of essentials were donated in just 48 hours for Ukraine by Priory School pupils and their families.

It followed a talk by the school's head of history, Dr Thompson, complete with maps and slides, to all pupils from Year 5 upwards.

Following on from this, an appeal for donations for refugees from Year 4 teacher, Mrs Nicholson, was met with an extraordinary response by parents, teachers and pupil.

Headteacher Edmund Matyjaszek told pupils in an email: “We have no words for your generosity. There will be a mufti day — colours blue and yellow of course — to raise funds on Friday.”
