THE charity MAD-Aid, which has been at the forefront of the Isle of Wight's effort to help with the Ukraine crisis, has developed a series of plans to focus help where it is most needed.
MAD-Aid's donors, volunteers, and ambassadors, have stepped up to provide help and has so far sent eight containers of emergency aid to Moldova, to help the mothers and children who fled the war.
The charity said: "This sad situation is not going away any time soon. So we've made a plan and we need your continued help.
"We need funds, volunteers, and so much more."
Plans to help Ukraine by Isle of Wight charity Mad-Aid
The short term plan is to ship humanitarian aid to Ukrainian displaced people.
Each truck can take 1,100 boxes, and costs £3,600 for each shipment.
At this stage, volunteers are needed for sorting, packing, loading, unloading and distributing.
The medium term plan is to raise funds to sustain 20 centres housing 1,500 Ukrainian citizens by buying housing in Moldova.
The cost of this is £14,000 per month to maintain.
So far they have spent £23,142 on supplying two large border camps helping around 400 people each evening with rest, food and warmth.
The long term plan is to help Ukrainians settle in Moldova, and help those who choose to come to the UK.
Help will be needed in the areas of kindergarten, school, employment, housing, counselling, logistic support and advice.
The estimated cost to help 500 people is £175,000.
Additional help will be given on an ad-hoc basis to other causes including evacuating orphans, providing aid to soldiers, sourcing and supplying medication, and helping to rebuild Ukraine.
