AN IMPORTANT race for personal reasons, Sir Bradley Wiggins is finishing his latest cycle challenge on the Isle of Wight.
- Bad news! Update here: Olympic cyclist Sir Bradley Wiggins won't be on Isle of Wight
He is happy for fans to greet him afterwards when he gets to The George in Yarmouth next Friday (April 29) — where he is looking forward to a cold beer.
His Shoulder to Shoulder ride across the UK involves him riding from Portpatrick in Scotland to the Isle of Wight, while filming a five-episode podcast series.
He will be riding shoulder to shoulder with five familiar faces to discuss topics ranging from fatherhood and friendship to masculinity and dedication.
It is all about raising awareness of a mental health initiative started by clothing company Mr Porter, called Health in Mind.
Sir Bradley told the County Press: "I'm delighted to be able to finish the Shoulder to Shoulder ride across the UK on the Isle of Wight on Friday.
"I remember being blown away by the stunning roads and views of the Island when I was part of the LeBlanq event last year and it's going to be great to come back next month for another weekend with Angela Hartnett and Johan Museeuw.
"Before that, the Shoulder to Shoulder ride with Mr Porter is going to be a very special experience, I think, as we'll be discussing loads of important issues along the way.
"Thankfully, there should be a cold beer at The George at the end of it and hopefully I'll see a few old friends there."
Sir Bradley is happy to meet fans at the finale, which is estimated to be around 5pm.
