A WOMAN has been arrested after disruptive behaviour on board a Wightlink ferry.
The service between Fishbourne and Portsmouth was delayed an hour while the police were called to the incident.
A Hampshire Constabulary spokesperson said: "We were called at 11.26am to a public order incident on a ferry at Gunwharf Quays.
"It’s alleged that a woman made her way onto the ferry without a ticket and became aggressive and abusive.
"A 61-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of using threatening or abusive words or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.
"She has since been released under investigation."
Wightlink tweeted to say the delays had been caused by a medical incident.
The County Press asked Wightlink if they could confirm the rumours on social media that it was a disruptive passenger without a ticket, but Wightlink responded: "We can confirm there was a medical emergency onboard Victoria of Wight."
