Five Isle of Wight bands and singer/songwriters have made it to the next stage of Platform One's Wight Noize competition and will now battle it out for a chance to play at the Isle of Wight Festival, on the event's Main Stage.

The acts will each perform four songs at a showcase event, at Strings Bar and Venue on May 14, from 7pm.

A winner will be announced on Sunday, May 15.

The Isle of Wight Festival returns in June and a Main Stage performance, along with industry support and events, is the prize for one of the lucky finalists.

Who are the 2022 Wight Noize finalists?

Alternative rock band Now Only, one of five finalists, said on Facebook: "Well then….can’t say how proud we are to be here...of ourselves and all the amazing talent involved…"

Four-piece rock band The Optimists fuse Britpop and music from the 90s/00s with a modern rock sound, into what they call Brit-Rock.

They said: "It feels great to be playing Wight Noize again this year.

The Isle of Wight Festival will bring headliners Lewis Capaldi, Kasabian, MUSE and a host of other acts including The Proclaimers, Paul Heaton and Jaqui Abbott and Del Amitri, to Seaclose Park in Newport on June 16-19.
