POPULAR BBC Radio 4 programme Any Questions is coming to the West Wight next month.

It is due to be broadcast from Freshwater Memorial Hall on Friday, June 3 — the Queen's Jubilee Bank Holiday.

It will be broadcast live just after 8pm, and repeated at lunchtime on Saturday.

Listeners will then have an opportunity to ring in with their own views to companion programme, Any Answers.

Any Questions was first broadcast in October, 1948.

Every week it visits a different part of the country with a panel of four speakers who answer questions from the audience.

It presents an opportunity to challenge politicians, policy makers, writers and thinkers, and is chaired by Chris Mason, the BBC’s new political editor.

The panel for Freshwater is expected to include journalist and broadcaster Isabel Oakeshott.

Questions are selected just before the programme begins, and the questioners appear live on the broadcast.

Tickets for the event are free, but must be reserved in advance.

They can be booked by calling the Memorial Hall on 01983 752956 or by emailing radio4fromthememhall@gmail.com
