A MAJOR road has now re-opened to traffic following a three-car collision.
The A3056 between Apse Heath and Sandown Airport closed just before 1pm while emergency services were at the scene.
Motorists were asked to avoid the area and find an alternative route while the emergency services deal with the incident.
However, it re-opened around 2.45pm.
Traffic is now moving freely.
The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service sent an ambulance and one Rapid Response Vehicle. One patient was conveyed to the emergency department of St Mary's Hospital.
