SOUTH Western Railway (SWR) has confirmed that Island Line services have been cancelled this afternoon (Wednesday, May 25).

The reason for the cancellations is due to a 'shortage of train crew', says SWR.

The following services have been cancelled on the Island Line:

  • Ryde St Johns Road to Shanklin - 3.16pm
  • Shanklin to Ryde Esplanade - 3.48pm
  • Ryde Esplanade to Shanklin - 4.15pm
  • Shanklin to Ryde Esplanade - 4.48pm
  • Ryde Esplanade to Shanklin - 5.14pm
  • Shanklin to Ryde Esplanade - 5.48pm
  • Ryde Esplanade to Shanklin - 6.14pm
  • Shanklin to Ryde Esplanade - 6.48pm
  • Ryde Esplanade to Ryde St Johns Road - 7.14pm

Ryde Pier is likely to be without an Island Line train service for 'at least' three months, operator South Western Railway has revealed.
