A SERVING Isle of Wight prisoner accused of knocking out a prison guard with a single punch will stand trial next month.
Olashile Balogun, a serving prisoner at HMP Isle of Wight, appeared before Island magistrates on Tuesday (June 14).
The 32-year-old is charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, in Newport, on July 13, 2021.
He is alleged to have punched a prison officer in the head following a disagreement, knocking him out.
Mr Balogun saw his case adjourned for a trial on July 25 at the Isle of Wight Crown Court.
He was further remanded in custody.
