ENTHUSIASTIC gardeners in Shanklin have been crowned winners of their category in this year’s Shanklin in Bloom competition.

Judging for the competition took place on July 4, with the winners announced in all seven categories.

Jacqui Robertson, volunteer at Shanklin Theatre, said: “Our Theatre Gardening team have done a sterling job this summer and has been rewarded by winning the 1st prize in their category of Shanklin In Bloom.”

The Clifton on Queens Road, which topped the guest houses category, said: “First place in our category for Shanklin In Bloom (again), a big thank you to our wonderful gardener Terri for all her hard work.”

Visit Shanklin said: “Well done to our great local attraction volunteers for achieving 1st in category of The Shanklin in Bloom awards 2022!”

A presentation evening at The Royal British Legion Club in Shanklin will be held on Wednesday, September 7, at 7pm.

There will be a raffle to help raise funds for next year’s Shanklin in Bloom with a £50 voucher as its prize.
