A SANDOWN man accused of a public order offence towards an Isle of Wight parking officer who slapped a ticket on his car will stand trial later this year.
Garry Oates, of Fort Street, appeared before Isle of Wight magistrates on Tuesday (August 2).
The 62-year-old, who asked to be addressed as Captain Oates, denied using threatening, abusive or insulting words/behaviour, to cause harassment, alarm or distress, in Sandown, on April 26.
Prosecutor, Liz Miller, told the court the charge related to an incident at a car park off Fort Street.
She said a civil enforcement officer was the alleged victim and body-worn video footage was available.
Mr Oates saw his case adjourned for a trial on October 6 at the same venue.
He was granted unconditional bail.
