JACOB Rees-Mogg came to the Isle of Wight last Thursday (October 13), visiting a factory, piloting a boat and spending time in Cowes.

The secretary of state for business, energy and industrial strategy visited renewable emergency company Vestas at its factory on the outskirts of Newport.

He said: “The factory was thronging with activities, manufacturers, engineers, technicians, specialists in aerodynamics.

“The people who transport these gigantic blades, I’ve just seen it, being put there with a crane, put in absolutely the right spot.

“Companies like Vestas are putting even more clean, homegrown energy on the grid, for longer supporting jobs and bolstering the future of energy security of the UK.

“It’s exactly the sort of growth this government is determined to unlock across the country.”
