Wightlink will be running later foot passenger services between Portsmouth Harbour and Ryde Pier Head on December dates.
Following calls for later sailings, with currently the last crossing from Portsmouth being at 8.20pm, the new dates will allow Isle of Wight residents and mainland customers to enjoy an evening out on the other side of The Solent in the run-up to Christmas, without an early curfew.
Wightlink's chief executive Keith Greenfield has said if the crossings prove popular, they will consider other dates.
He said: “If these sailings prove popular with customers, we will consider later sailings at other times of the year on this route.”
The dates are Friday 9, Saturday 10, Friday 16, Saturday 17, Thursday 22 and Friday 23 December.
Timings are Portsmouth to Ryde 9.20pm and 10.45pm, and Ryde to Portsmouth 10pm.
The services will be operated by Blue Funnel catamarans. Customers should book in advance through the Wightlink App or www.wightlink.co.uk
Wightlink’s overnight vehicle ferries from its terminal in Gunwharf Road also carry foot passengers if customers wish to return later.
