CHRISTMAS festivities continued in Newport yesterday (Saturday) with a parade through the town and a fun day in Scarrots Lane.

Following the successful Newport Day of Christmas last month, the town enjoyed another busy festive day.

There was a whole day of fun in Scarrots Lane with special visits by Santa, the snow queen, and two huskies, as well as a Tardis and World War One re-enacters.

At 5pm a parade set off around the town thanks to Newport Carnival, complete with several bands, adding Christmas music and the sounds of Samba into the streets.

Also in the evening was the official opening of Terry Ramplin's Christmas lights at his Long Lane home.

Another home in Newport worth seeking out is at Goldcrest Close.
