WIGHTLINK thanked its "thousands of happy customers" for helping it scoop Silver in the British Travel Awards 2021/22.
They were awarded in the category Best Ferry Company to/from UK ports.
“We want to thank everyone who voted for us and are delighted to win this prestigious award,” said Wightlink chief executive Keith Greenfield.
“We are proud to support the Isle of Wight’s many businesses that rely on tourism by carrying their customers across the Solent on our modern fleet of ships, including England’s first vehicle ferry powered by hybrid energy – Victoria of Wight.”
The Gold award went to Brittany Ferries which connects the UK with ports in France and Spain from Portsmouth and Plymouth. Danish ferry company DFDS won Bronze.
Keith said the awards prove Portsmouth is an excellent departure port for people from all over the UK who are looking for a memorable holiday following a short sea crossing.
The British Travel Awards is the biggest UK awards organisation that invites votes from customers.
More than 300,000 people cast over 618,000 votes across all the categories.
