Could an Isle of Wight challenger take on LadBaby's Food Aid (their Do They Know it's Christmas rework), for the festive number one spot?

Singing club Starling Songwriters have released a Youtube video of their Yuletide song Wrap Up the Presents after winning Quay Arts Christmas song competition.

The singers, who practise and hone their craft at Carisbrooke Church Hall every week, have put together a video of them singing Wrap Up the Presents.

They said: "Starling Songwriters have been running a club for 10-16 year olds in Carisbrooke on the first Wednesday of every month.

"This will continue into next year, but it looks like we've got funding from Music Hub to change to fortnightly meetings from April... that's the first bit of good news.

"Then this year's Christmas song from the club won Quay Arts annual Christmas Song Writing Competition.

"Following on from this, we've produced a video which reached 100 views in just over 24 hours.

"And there will be an audio release on all major streaming services in the next couple of days."

The team who wrote the music from scratch and penned the lyrics are: Tilly, Bede, Nanci, Annie, Esme, Sonnie, Lila & Naeve.

Here's what they have to try to beat... Ladbaby's Food Aid.

Chris and Maris said:" It's fair to say we're very proud!"

The Isle of Wight Council has agreed funding for Starling to start a club at The Isle of Wight Community Club in Park Road, Cowes, on Saturday mornings from January 28.

This will also be tied to an Early Years Club, giving opportunity for 1-4 year olds to come into contact with lots of instruments and experience  live performances of popular singalong songs and children's songs written by Starling Songwriters members and club attendees alike.
