THE staff at St Mary's Hospital hit a milestone last week when government data revealed they have looked after 2,000 Covid patients since the pandemic began.
The NHS heroes have, since March 2020, had 2,005 Covid-19 patients on the wards.
Latest data shows there are currently just three at hospital at present. None are on ventilation beds.
The peak of the crisis, for the hospital, was in January 2021.
Government figures showed 3,810 cases of Covid-19 were confirmed on the Island that month, which at the time was a sudden spike of more than half the Island's total cases.

In total, the Island has had 45,879 cases recorded (including 3,112 reinfections).
Government data shows 493 Covid deaths on the Isle of Wight, where the person died within 28 days of a positive Covid test (the metric used).
Government data shows 500 deaths where Covid is mentioned on the death certificate.
