"It's quite overwhelming but magical nonetheless" say Isle of Wight band Wet Leg, who are celebrating double success following last night's wins at the Grammy Awards.
Rhian Teasdale, Hester Chambers, Joshua Mobararki, Henry Holmes and Ellis Durand scooped Best Alternative Music Album award for their self-titled debut Wet Leg.
They also took home Best Alternative Music Performance for 'Chaise Longue', which was released back in June 2021.
It marks a momentous year for the band, which emanated from the Island.
After claiming last night's awards, Rhian told the Recording Academy/Grammys: "There've been highs. There've been lows. There've been in-the-middles.
"It's been a rollercoaster. It's pretty wild that we're here."
Asked what the best part of their "whirlwind" year has been, Hester said: "Traveling around and seeing places that I didn't think I'd get to go to and making such an amaing touring family.
"We're so lucky to have the crew that we do."
She added: "It's just such a strange concept for us.
"Being who we are and where we're from and the way we approached this band together. It's at the other end of the scale of what we thought we'd be doing if you asked us 'what do you think you'd be doing in a year'.
"It's quite overwhelming but magical nonetheless!"
What's next for Wet Leg?
The success may keep coming for the Indie band.
They're nominated for four BRIT Awards - Mastercard album of the year, group of the year, best new artist and alternative/rock act.
