A flood alert is in force for the Isle of Wight's coast.
The Environment Agency is warning of possible flooding due to high water levels and weather conditions.
Islanders are told to avoid using low lying footpaths or entering areas prone to flooding.
Areas usually affected are seafronts in Sandown, East Cowes, Cowes and Ryde.
Bad weather has also led to a number of cancellations on the cross-Solent operators this morning (Wednesday).
Hovertravel is off because of strong winds, while Red Funnel's Red Jet is suspended due to an issue with a vessel's generator.
