A FORMER Morrisons employee, accused of stealing £46,000 over 13 months, will appear at Isle of Wight Crown Court next month.

David Haynes, of Star Street Ryde, offered no plea at his Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court hearing on Tuesday, March 21.

It is alleged that the 28-year-old stole from the national supermarket chain between September 1, 2020, and October 11, 2021.

Charles Nightingale, prosecuting, said Haynes voided transactions and pocketed cash, as well as tobacco and spirits, while working at Newport’s Morrisons petrol station.

Haynes was granted unconditional bail and will appear before a crown court judge on April 20.
