AN ISLE of Wight man accused of punching and kicking a dog and swinging the animal around by its collar, is to stand trial next month.
UPDATE: May 27, 2023: Mr Hegarty has been cleared
Elliott Hegarty, of Fitzroy Street, Sandown, previously denied causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal, on March 18, 2022.
He was not required to appear at the Isle of Wight Crown Court for Monday's short hearing (April 24).
The 37-year-old was bailed to stand trial at the same venue, on May 9.
