A Dutch submarine was spotted off the coast of the Isle of Wight twice over the last week.

The vessel, listed as NATO warship on Vesselfinder.com, was first pictured the Island on Friday, May 25.

Islanders were lucky enough to spot it passing Yarmouth and Gurnard.

It returned again on Bank Holiday Monday, and was moored off Tennyson Down.

Crew were spotted out on deck.

The HNLMS Zeeleeuw (S803) Walrus-class submarine belongs to the Royal Netherlands Navy.

It's believed it was carrying out training exercises off the Island's coast.

A spokesperson for NATO Allied Maritime Command said: "We do not comment on Allied submarine operations."
